A person has been arrested in reference to the large-scale unlawful tipping of waste in Oxfordshire, police have stated.
The 39-year-old, from the Guildford space, was arrested on Tuesday following co-operation between the Setting Company (EA) and the South East Regional Organised Crime Unit.
Final week, the EA declared the 40ft-high mountain of waste close to Kidlington a “critical incident”.

Anna Burns, the Setting Company’s space director for the Thames, stated that the “appalling unlawful waste dump… has rightly provoked outrage over the potential penalties for the group and setting”.
“We’ve got been working around the clock with the South East Regional Organised Crime Unit to deliver the perpetrators to justice and make them pay for this offence,” she added.
“Our investigative efforts have secured an arrest immediately, which would be the first step in delivering justice for residents and punishing these accountable.”

Phil Davies, head of the Joint Unit for Waste Crime, added that the EA “is working carefully with different regulation enforcement companions to establish and maintain these liable for the horrendous unlawful dumping of waste”.
He then stated: “Quite a few lively strains of investigation are being pursued by specialist officers.”

The EA stated that officers attended the location on 2 July after the primary report of waste tipping, and {that a} cease-and-desist letter was issued to stop criminality.
