WASHINGTON, June 15 (Reuters) – President Donald Trump vetoed an Israeli plan in latest days to kill Iran’s Supreme Chief Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, two U.S. officers instructed Reuters on Sunday.
“Have the Iranians killed an American but? No. Till they will we’re not even speaking about going after the political management,” stated one of many sources, a senior U.S. administration official.
The officers, talking on situation of anonymity, stated prime U.S. officers have been in fixed communications with Israeli officers within the days since Israel launched an enormous assault on Iran in a bid to halt its nuclear program.
They stated the Israelis reported that they’d a possibility to kill the highest Iranian chief, however Trump waved them off of the plan.
The officers wouldn’t say whether or not Trump himself delivered the message. However Trump has been in frequent communications with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
When requested about Reuters report, Netanyahu, in an interview on Sunday with Fox News Channel’s “Particular Report With Bret Baier,” stated: “There’s so many false experiences of conversations that by no means occurred, and I’m not going to get into that.”
