Catholic Church at crossroads as conclave looms

Some 133 Catholic cardinals will enter a conclave on Wednesday to elect a successor to Pope Francis, who died April 21 aged 88. The Church’s 1.4 billion members await the result, with debate over whether or not the following pope will proceed Francis’ progressive path or shift towards conservatism.
