Jon Stewart mocked FBI Director Kash Patel over his boozy celebration with members of the U.S. males’s hockey group following their Olympic gold on Sunday.
Airing footage of individuals celebrating the second U.S. hockey gold medal of the Video games throughout Monday’s episode of “The Daily Show,” the comic paused on the viral clip of the FBI director within the locker room with Group USA.
“There may be nothing that may take away from this joyous second, as all People have a good time… Wait, what the fuck? Is that FBI Director Kash Patel? Why are they placing a medal across the neck of the FBI director?” Stewart exclaimed.
“Is Kash Patel a Make-a-Want… Man? Child? Is that what that is?” he teased.
“I’m not making an attempt to decrease his situation,” Stewart continued earlier than displaying a photograph of Patel with a seemingly startled expression. “There may be presently no treatment for loopy eyes.”
After CBS reported final Thursday that Patel had flown to the Olympics on an FBI jet at taxpayer expense, FBI spokesperson Ben Williamson insisted in an X post that Patel’s flight to Europe was “not a private journey.”
“Director Patel is on a visit that was deliberate months in the past. It contains: companion conferences with Italian regulation enforcement and safety officers (they invited the Director final July), assembly with Ambassador Fertitta (as a comply with as much as our regulation enforcement roundtable he hosted in January), conferences with Legat employees, and extra,” he wrote.
Williamson accused MS NOW of falsely reporting concerning the FBI director.
“Your rag outlet wrote that [Patel] went to hang around on the Olympics on the taxpayer dime – even when supplied data that your idea was false. Whenever you’re able to appropriate that allow me know,” Williamson wrote to MS NOW reporter Ken Dilanian in a X post on Saturday. “Received’t maintain my breath.”
Patel defended his subsequent beer-chugging Olympics appearance in an X post on Sunday after the sport.
“For the very involved media – sure, I like America and was extraordinarily humbled when my mates, the newly minted Gold Medal winners on Group USA, invited me into the locker room to have a good time this historic second with the boys,” he wrote. “Biggest nation on earth and biggest sport on earth.”
