US and Iran negotiators held oblique talks in Oman on Friday amid a large US navy buildup within the area. Iranian International Minister Abbas Araghchi stated they have been carried out in a “optimistic environment” with the 2 sides agreeing to proceed negotiations. The talks targeted on Tehran’s nuclear programme and, for the primary time, the US introduced its high Mideast navy commander to the desk.
